The last months at my job were hell.

I don’t miss home, but I don’t love Switzerland either. The real impact of moving abroad wasn’t the startup job or the lifestyle upgrade — it was the shift in my mindset.

Burnout, dysfunction, and unexpected job offers. This quarter wasn’t about progress—it was about survival. Relocation is on the table, change is inevitable, and somehow, being bold might be paying off.

Turns out, building a life around three pillars doesn’t stop the whole structure from leaning.

Growth is often invisible if you assume you’ve always had your current knowledge, but it’s only through reflection that I’ve come to appreciate how far I’ve traveled—both literally and figuratively.

It’s too soon to fully gauge the impact of Swiss workplace culture versus the startup culture, but it’s undeniably different from what I was used to.

Breaking the routine requires discomfort. I started to write this little article during a month-long journey across Southeast Asia
